Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Lean Practitioner to join the Fabrication Boeing Salt Lake team in Salt Lake City or West Jordan, Utah.

The successful candidate will be an expert in Lean manufacturing, supporting the implementation of the Boeing Production System and advancing Employee Involvement maturity. They will collaborate closely with teams across the Major Business Unit (MBU) to drive the execution of improvement projects.

This individual will partner with manufacturing teams and other stakeholders promote the integration of BPS and Operational Excellence best practices, aiming to achieve world-class manufacturing system performance and efficiency.

As a Lean Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in driving Lean initiatives across the organization. You will be responsible for leading projects that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall performance. This position requires an understanding of Lean principles and methodologies, as well as the ability to mentor and guide teams in their Lean journey.

Lean & Operational Excellence

  • Apply and promote Lean principles and conduct operational analysis to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and implement enterprise-wide production systems.

  • Use systems thinking to understand organizational interdependencies, anticipate impacts, and enhance overall performance.

Problem Solving & Decision Making

  • Develop and implement solutions for complex problems using established practices, planning and organizing work to meet objectives with minimal supervision.

  • Influence organizational goals through sound decision-making and serve as the primary contact on projects requiring coordination with senior stakeholders.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems by applying scientific principles and practical testing methods.

  • Utilize manufacturing and prototyping knowledge to design and validate concepts through pre-production models.

Teamwork & Leadership

  • Collaborate effectively within teams, leveraging diverse expertise to achieve shared objectives.

  • Persuade and influence others by building relationships, promoting ideas with conviction, and gaining support.

  • Lead project teams through all phases, delegating tasks and ensuring successful completion.

Facilitation

  • Pursue ongoing learning and development by seeking feedback and maintaining relevant skills and knowledge.

  • Deliver clear, engaging presentations and manage processes by organizing tasks, simplifying workflows, and identifying synergies. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Lean projects and initiatives across various departments

  • Conduct value stream mapping and process analysis to identify areas for improvement

  • Develop and implement Lean training programs for employees at all levels

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement efforts

  • Utilize data analysis and metrics to measure the effectiveness of Lean initiatives

  • Mentor and coach team members in Lean principles and practices

  • Prepare and present reports on project progress and outcomes to management

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Lean methodologies

  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or manufacturing environment

  • 1+ years of experience using LEAN Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace

  • 1+ years of experience working in cross-functional teams

  • 1+ years of experience in a role which required strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • 1+ years of experience using strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification

  • 1+ years of experience implementing lean principles

  • 1+ years of experience teaching Lean+ tools and concepts

Summary pay range: $75,000 - $101,000
