WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US 

The Lead/Principal IT Auditor at SimCorp, is responsible for leading and executing IT audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, information security systems, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves assessing IT infrastructure, systems, and processes to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement. The Lead/Principal IT Auditor works closely with business units and senior leadership to test whether IT risks are managed effectively, and that the organization’s technology systems support its compliance and operational objectives.

In an IT organization, like SimCorp, the Lead/Principal IT Auditor promotes collaboration among business, information security, risk management, and Internal Audit. By conducting risk-based audits and identifying relevant issues, the auditor enhances IT governance, risk management, and business resilience, ensuring compliance with policies and industry standards while fostering continuous improvement and accountability.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR 

In your daily work, you will collaborate with your team to: 

• Lead and execute IT audits across departments and functions to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and the security of IT systems and infrastructure.
• Develop and execute audit plans, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate IT processes, applications, and systems for compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
• Identify and assess IT risks, inefficiencies, vulnerabilities, and control gaps, providing actionable recommendations for mitigation and improvement.
• Collaborate with IT teams and business units to ensure that audit findings are addressed and corrective actions are implemented effectively.
• Prepare detailed audit reports, documenting findings, conclusions, and actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  Perform follow-up audits to ensure corrective actions are taken based on previous audit findings and assess improvements implemented by the business are resolved in a timely manner.
• Ensure that audits are conducted in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements concerning audit of IT-related risks.
• Assist in developing and refining audit methodologies, tools, and processes to improve IT audit practices.
• Monitor changes in industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure the company’s audit practices remain relevant and effective
  Mentor and provide guidance and support to junior auditors, fostering their development in IT auditing and auditing standards.

WHAT WE VALUE

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Security or similar relevant field
• 10+ years of professional experience of practical IT auditing
• Strong cross-domain IT knowledge, including network technology, operating systems, Information Security, SDLC, cloud (MS Azure)
• Proven knowledge of common IT and security standards such as CSA-CCM, ITIL, COBIT, NIST, CIS-18 and ISO/IEC 27000 series
• Relevant professional certification such as CISA, CISM, CISSP or CIA preferred
• High analytical skills, methodical know-how and quick conceptual understanding of complex matters
• Fluent English and strong interpersonal skills
