About the Role

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Leading Hand to join the team at our Wagerup Alumina Refinery. In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for providing support to the Supervisor in aspects of crew leadership and coordination of activities, as well as providing relief in the Supervisor’s absence.

You will use your knowledge to solve problems with the Area Equipment Specialist (AES) to root cause and help the crew to develop or put in counter measures to maintain equipment performance. You will also be included in decision-making related to removing barriers for the crew to be able to proceed with work; always aiming to maintain production and ensure equipment remains viable.

What you can bring to the role

  • A Mechanical Trades Certificate, ideally with 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring teams.

  • Strong mechanical maintenance background, ideally in a similar mining or similar heavy industry environment.

  • A strong safety-mindset and, with demonstrated ability to influence safety culture within your team.

  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Office and computer skills.
