Operate, Maintain and Improve
We are currently seeking a self-motivated individual to join our Kilmore East Quarry team as a Leading Hand.
Reporting to the Quarry Manager, this role is a multi-faceted production and maintenance position, responsible for leading quarry operations while ensuring the reliability, availability and continuous improvement of plant and equipment. The ideal candidate will preferably have mobile and fixed plant experience, with a background in mining, mineral sands, crushing hard rock or flotation processes highly regarded. Front End Loader experience and the ability to use Loadrite will be highly advantageous.
This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday with rostered Saturday morning work, with regular paid overtime.
In your new role with us, you will:
Lead day-to-day production operations and make decisions that impact the overall performance of the business
Provide hands-on leadership to production and maintenance activities, ensuring safe and efficient operations
Plan, coordinate and carry out routine preventative maintenance, inspections and minor repairs on fixed and mobile plant
Identify, troubleshoot and rectify mechanical, process and operational faults to minimise downtime
Monitor plant condition, report defects, and work closely with maintenance teams and contractors to prioritize repairs
Ensure plant, equipment and work areas are maintained to a high standard of housekeeping and operational readiness
Lead people while bringing your team along the journey to successfully achieve production and maintenance goals
Bring a strong safety mindset and manage high-risk activities, including isolations, shutdowns and maintenance work
Carry out day-to-day operation and maintenance of various vehicles, plant and equipment
Perform general labour and hands-on maintenance tasks as required, including shutdown and breakdown support
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across production efficiency, equipment reliability and maintenance practices

Have exposure to basic mechanical maintenance, shutdown work, or condition monitoring (highly regarded)
