Job Description:

The Cleanroom Technician is a mid-level role which will use skill and knowledge to build high quality single use consumables for the life sciences industry.  The products are assembled in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom environment with manual and semi-automated equipment.  This position works alongside a talented team to assemble, test and troubleshoot our standard and custom machines and consumables.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Follow safety guidelines to ensure you and your fellow team members avoid injuries and accidents
  • Maintain cleanroom operating best practices to limit airborne particles and bioburden in the environment
  • Build products without defects by:
    • Understanding and following detailed work instructions and travelers
    • Inspecting components and assemblies before and after each step in the build process
    • Ensuring tooling and equipment is in good working order
    • Performing in-process and final product testing
  • Produce the type and quantities of products to meet customer demand on time and in full
  • Troubleshoot problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials and escalate to leader when additional support is appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the process and partner with key stakeholders to prioritize and implement them
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing and assembly
  • Experience in Medical Device / Life Sciences manufacturing, specifically in Cleanroom environments.
  • Ability to read and understand written procedures, work instructions and other product documentation
  • Knowledge of ISO 90001 requirements

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 2-year Vocational Certificate or Associate’s degree
  • Knowledge of typical cleanroom policies and procedures in line with ISO 14644

Work Environment:

The team member’s essential job duties require the team member to spend his/her time in the cleanroom area.  The team member must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by CARR Biosystems when in the cleanroom and general manufacturing area. 

Position Type:

This is a regular, full-time position with the understanding that a regular workweek may require extended days and hours as needed to meet business needs. Must be able, available, and willing to work more than 40 hours per week, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those performed in the job duties. Performing the role frequently uses close vision, speech, hearing, frequent standing, use of hand tools and dexterity to work with equipment.  The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.  Additional examples:

  • Typically sits, grasps items, and performs keyboarding for regular operation of a computer.
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly.
  • Occasional exposure to typical manufacturing production physical hazards.

Travel: No travel is required for this position.
