Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)’ is responsible for driving exceptional product quality, customer value beyond expectations, regulatory assurance and optimized Cost of Quality. This is a key technical position, affecting part quality for both installed base and New Product Introductions parts.
In nutshell, Supplier Quality Engineer is expected to deliver on supplier approval, qualification, quality sustenance and continuous improvement towards achieving best quality products on time every time in a compliant way..
As a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer- Electrical/Electronics, you will also be responsible for:
- Assessing Capacity and Capability of Indian supply base for various Electrical and Electronics assemblies. Sourcing scope will cover both Indian market and exports to GE factories or customers around the world.
- Leading supplier development initiatives for sourcing of Electrical & Electronics commodities.
- Conducting supplier approval audits and commodity assessment.
- Leading Product qualification; Perform Surveillance Audits on Supplier Quality Management System, Products, Processes and Regulatory Compliance.
- Performing Root Cause Analysis on Quality Issues & drive Corrective and Preventive Actions.
- Ability to collaborate with internal stake holders (Manufacturing, Engineering, Sourcing) to implement process improvement, incorporating key quality parameters and Critical to Quality characteristics.
- Very strong influencing and problem-solving skills
- Performing process capability evaluation to drive reduction in defects and cost of failure at Suppliers.
- Work closely with respective Global Commodity Leaders, and other members of extended supply chain team (Manufacturing, Engineering etc.) to fully understand sourcing needs, strategy, commitments, technical and quality requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, Very strong result oriented mindset.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronic Engineering.
- Have min 8 years’ experience in quality /supplier quality / manufacturing / vendor development functions.
- Have an ability to manage multiple qualifications and work with global teams to approve/qualify suppliers and improve their performance.
- Have an ability in reviewing documents and parts according to IEC, ANSI, CE, CSA /UL/ other international standards & Regulatory Requirements.
- Have knowledge of One-Line Diagrams, Electrical Schematic Drawings & design datasheets.
- Knowledge of Soldering, welding, brazing, NDT Techniques will be added advantage
- Electrical & Electronic box builds, Control System Products; Plant automation equipment’s including DCS, PLC, SCADA System etc.
- Power sector related electrical components including Metering, Control & Protection systems, Low Voltage & Medium Voltage Equipment’s such as MCC, PEECC, GCB, GTE, GLAC. GNAC, Bus-ducts, Transformers, Capacitors, Cables, Power Supplies, Reactors, Converters
- Experience in NDT Testing methods/ Equipment including Radiography, Ultrasonic Testers, X-Ray machines ,Complex Cable Harness
- MUST: Highest Level of Integrity.
- MUST: Willingness to travel Appx 50% of the time/ Domestic mostly and International rarely
- Sourcing experience /Diversified Electrical/ Electronics/Instrumentation Industry experience.
- Green Belt / Black Belt certified
- International Experience.
- Lead Auditor Certification- ISO-9001/2000
