Your role
As a Lead Structural Engineer in our Queensland Energy Team, you'll guide purposeful work that supports the future of the energy sector. Collaborating with a diverse, multidisciplinary team, you’ll explore integrated solutions, offer thoughtful perspectives, and partner with clients to help them build a more sustainable world.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting a diverse, high-performing team – you will have the opportunity to support and guide our design teams, sharing your knowledge on the intricate structural elements of Energy projects including Transmission line towers, Substations, Gas Peaker Plants, BESS, Solar and Wind Farms.
- Tackle complex problems – In this role, you will collaborate closely with our clients to tackle some of the most complex Energy Structure challenges, helping to find innovative solutions.
- Driving excellence in Design – oversee the use of industry-standard tools and analysis processes while coaching the team to build capability and confidence.
- Empowering energy transformation – work with purpose alongside clients and colleagues to deliver projects that contribute to a cleaner, more reliable and more equitable energy future.
- Collaborating across disciplines – partner with engineering, commercial, digital, advisory and environmental teams to co-create solutions to complex integrated project needs.
- Championing quality and continuous improvement – refine modelling approaches, uplift capability and foster a learning culture that supports career development.
- Supporting growth and wellbeing – mentor team members, promote inclusive practices, and contribute to business development through authentic relationship-building.
What you’ll bring
You blend technical expertise with empathy, communication and inclusive leadership. You enjoy helping others grow and thrive in dynamic environments. You’ll also have:
- Experience in Structural Engineering Design for Energy Projects – you may have 10+ years in consulting or utilities and will have worked on a diverse array of Energy projects. You will have CPEng and/or RPEQ. Further experience in Commercial or Industrial Buildings with a good understanding of Geotechnical Engineering would be welcomed.
- Strong capability in structural analysis and modelling – experience designing with a broad range of construction materials including steel, reinforced concrete and masonry and the analysis tools used in the design process. Experience with tower modelling software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole and PLS-Tower or other software is preferred but not essential.
- A collaborative and supportive leadership style – you engage confidently with clients and colleagues, value diverse perspectives, and create environments where people do their best work. You will support the continuing technical and professional growth of the team around you and have the ability to facilitate the making of challenging technical decisions.
- Commercial acumen – you will bring experience and a deep understanding of the Program and cost aspects of delivering projects as a consultant with the ability to lead projects or small multidisciplinary teams on projects to deliver excellent technical and commercial outcomes.
