Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Lead Structural Analyst (Level 4) for the Design Center South, which is a multi-function Engineering Organization with a mission statement to provide engineering solutions via a highly skilled flexible workforce and cutting edge technologies and advancement of the Boeing Enterprise.
The Design Center provides engineering support to Enterprise wide projects/programs and is a flexible team that strategically adapts to emerging opportunities.
Position Responsibilities:
Performs detailed structural analysis (static strength, durability/fatigue and damage tolerance) to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis supports responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination and to show compliance with regulatory requirements
Research and prepare data to support definition of structural design requirements
Support and confirmation of fracture assessments for service life requirements.
Strength analysis will include interpretation of vehicle loads and environments, stress calculations and development of margins of safety with known allowables
Observance of program standards and requirements to ensure structural integrity, and documentation of stress reports
Plans and organize structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements
Develops, integrates and documents complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design
Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
7+ years of experience in structural analysis
7+ years of experience with structural analysis methods (e.g., fatigue and corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques, damage tolerance methods
Experience with Boeing aircraft models
Ability to work on-site 5 days per week
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience working transport category airplane certification or production/fleet support projects involving FAA approval
Master of Science in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace engineering
Ability to work with diverse teams
Experience with teaching, mentoring, and leading teams
Boeing 7-Series and/or McDonnell Douglas Aircraft experience desired
Candidates possessing experience using Boeing Commercial Airplane structural analysis methods and tools are strongly desired

Summary pay range for Lead (Level 4): $129,200.00 - $174,800.00
