We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk Consulting team at Marsh Risk. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Act as a trusted adviser on project risk for infrastructure and construction projects serving North America clients. The role provides strategic risk management and consulting across the project lifecycle with emphasis on pre-construction risk exposure. The successful candidate will combine a project control foundation with formal finance capability to translate quantitative risk analysis into pragmatic commercial consulting solutions for senior stakeholders.
We will count on you to:
Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external clients by providing strategic risk management and management consulting support across the project lifecycle, with a focus on project planning and financial risk exposure;
Partner with senior leadership, project sponsors, and multidisciplinary teams to identify, assess, and prioritize risks, ensuring alignment between risk management strategies and broader business and client objectives;
Lead the development, maintenance, and governance of comprehensive risk registers, with a clear understanding of impacts to project cost, schedule, performance, and overall financial outcomes;
Facilitate and lead risk interviews, executive‑level workshops, and stakeholder working sessions, including the ability and willingness to conduct in‑person meetings and workshops across North America, while synthesizing qualitative insights and quantitative analysis into actionable recommendations.
Perform advanced quantitative risk analysis using complex modeling techniques to support scenario analysis, decision‑making, and executive reporting. Undertake scenario analysis for insurable loss studies, Probable Maximum Loss or Maximum Foreseeable Loss, on multiple lines of coverage for large construction projects.
Advise clients on contingency budgeting, escalation and inflation studies, insurance studies, regulatory compliance considerations, contingency control tools, and structured change management approaches;
Support the traditional and alternative deliver method projects, including public‑private partnership (P3), Progressive Design-Builds, CM@R and others by identifying contractual obligations and financial exposures regarding funding, design, procurement, and investment decision processes;
Develop high‑quality, client‑ready deliverables, including reports, dashboards, and presentations, translating complex analytical outputs into clear, concise insights for senior stakeholders and decision‑makers.
What you need to have:
4+ years of experience in consulting, project advisory, infrastructure advisory, project controls or a professional services environment with demonstrated client-facing responsibilities.
4+ years of experience in risk management, project risk analysis, cost and schedule risk analysis, project controls or equivalent hands-on experience on construction/infrastructure projects.
A recognised undergraduate engineering degree (B.E. / B.Tech. Engineering — typically Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Construction or equivalent), Architectural degree, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or related technical field
Postgraduate degree in finance/economics/management such as MBA (Finance), M. Com (Finance), M.Sc. Finance/Economics, M.E./M.Tech with significant finance coursework with relevant project finance exposure),
Strong analytical background with applied experience in probability, statistics and data-driven analysis.
Demonstrated ability to structure complex problems, develop insights and communicate recommendations effectively to clients and senior stakeholders.
Solid understanding of project budgeting, cost controls, schedule management and change management principles.
Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities in a consulting or advisory setting.
Fluency in English (written and spoken). French is desirable but not required.

Advanced degrees in engineering or finance/management (e.g., M.Tech/M.E. with finance electives, MBA Finance, M.S. Finance).
Professional certifications: PMP, PMI-RMP, PRINCE2, AACEi (e.g., CCP) or equivalent risk/project controls credentials.
Experience in management consulting, infrastructure advisory or capital project consulting environments, particularly supporting large-scale projects.
Working knowledge of project finance concepts and risk allocation structures; exposure to North American procurement and contracting practices is an advantage.
Familiarity with project scheduling and risk tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk/DecisionTools or similar.
Experience with data visualisation and executive reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
Practical experience applying Monte Carlo simulation and other probabilistic modelling techniques to cost and schedule forecasting.
Proficiency on Microsoft Office tools, specially MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint with AI integrations.
Knowledge of construction insurance programs, risk transfer mechanisms and claims considerations is a plus.
Experience supporting cross-border/remote delivery and ability to work overlapping hours with North American clients—east and west coast.
