Job Description Summary

The Lead Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, architecting, and supporting systems, services, and applications essential for enabling an agile digital enterprise. This role guides the architecture and design of technologies that underpin digital experience, digital correspondence, digital connectivity, digital exchange services, and shared data platforms. Additionally, the Lead Solutions Architect contributes to defining web and data strategies, expanding capabilities, and developing comprehensive enterprise solutions by providing technical leadership, keeping abreast of advancements in application solutions, and offering direction on design, frameworks, and platform selection.

Responsibilities

  • Define, document, and deliver current states, target states, and initiative-based architectures to drive modernization of digital experience, correspondence, connectivity, exchange services, and shared data platforms.
  • Work collaboratively with other architects, software engineers, and business product owners in an agile environment.
  • Actively contribute to the engineering community as advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the software development lifecycle.
  • Recommend the selection and integration of data related tools, frameworks and applications required to expand our platform capabilities.
  • Recommend and implement best practices for the management of enterprise data, including master data, reference data, metadata, data quality, and lineage.
  • Design robust, reusable and scalable data driven solutions and data pipeline frameworks to automate the ingestion, processing and delivery of structured and unstructured batch and real-time streaming data.
  • Learn and keep pace with the latest advances in the field; rapidly grasp new technologies to support the environment and contribute to project deliverables.
  • Act as lead and mentor on technical components of strategic projects


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, engineering, MIS, or equivalent experience
  • Five years of collective experience in the application of architecture, enterprise roadmaps, analytics, cloud, IT strategies, innovation, SAFE, TOGAF and data integration concepts and methodologies
  • Well versed in defining, recommending, promoting, and enforcing program and project solutions Expertise using SQL for data profiling, analysis, and extraction
  • Three years of experience in the five following areas:
  • (1) Architecting, building and administering complex architectures and technologies, and real-time streaming analytics architectures in both on premises and cloud environments
  • (2) Architecting, building and administering large-scale distributed applications
  • (3) Linux operations and development, including CLI, basic commands and shell scripting (Powershell, Bash)
  • (4) Architecting scalable containerized applications with container orchestration framework
  • (5) Execution of DevOps methodologies and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
  • Attention to detail and results oriented, with a strong customer focus
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Technical communication skills
  • Prioritization skills to meet tight deadlines
  • The ability to work in a team environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership capability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
  • Software development experience in relevant programming languages (i.e. Spark, Java, Python, Scala, Node.js, SQL)
  • Thorough Knowledge of open API Specification, REST, API designs, Security and implementation
  • Experience in digital experience technologies (Drupal CMS) in complex enterprise and multisite environments utilizing hosting platforms such as Acquia Cloud Next, and supporting tools and frameworks (PHP and object-oriented programming, Single-Directory Components, Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, bitbucket)
  • Experience with DataLakes and data warehousing architecture and implementation, including MPP, data streams, hands on experience with source to target mappings and developing ETL code.
  • Technology or platform certifications (e.g. AWS, Microsoft)
  • Experience with advanced analytics and machine learning concepts and technology implementations
  • Understanding of big data and real time streaming analytics processing architecture and ecosystems

Compensation

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $130,000 - $165,000 annuallyPlease note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.

This is a hybrid position requiring three days in office per week in one of our hub locations (Philadelphia, PA or Cedar Rapids, IA).  Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
