Role Purpose
Responsible for creating repeatable designs that enable the desired business outcomes to be realised. Working with key stakeholders, subject matter experts and technology providers to define the architecture for end to end solutions across systems portfolio, ensuring fast delivery of standards based interfaces aligned to business pipeline, application roadmaps and enterprise architecture guidance. This includes:
Improve speed of delivery using standards based approach to design.
Create a componentized end to end solution designs to maximize re-use.
Ensuring that solutions are designed & developed are both scalable and sustainable.
Looking holistically and identifying opportunities for synergy.
Standardize delivery of architectural artefacts through the PMO process.
Help define repeatable pattern sets for key use cases.
Considering the current and future needs of the organization for specific technologies and solutions to deliver projects.
Key Competencies
Develops high level solution detailed designs for programmer or projects working in collaboration with the presales director, utilizing available expertise from domain specialists and 3rd party solution providers to ensure that they meet the needs of the business, are fit for purpose and supportable.
Takes a holistic approach to solution design, considering wider factors such as Business Strategic goals, customer pipeline, the future state architectural vision, existing IT landscape and the IT portfolio plan.
Builds strong relationships with business stakeholders, understanding their objectives and becoming a trusted advisor on technology decisions - ensure architecture considerations are communicated effectively and understood.
Works with 3rd party solution providers to explore opportunities and evaluate their capability fit.
Engages with business stakeholders to assess the suitability of products and services against functional and non-functional requirements, technology standards and architecture principles.
Ensures the application portfolio is managed and maintained for Alloga TSFM and feeds into wider Enterprise Architecture.
Commercially aware, able work with country teams, technology vendors to understand their costs based on commercial models and decipher licensing arrangements.
Ensure application, data and infrastructure requirements as well as systems interdependencies and key integration requirements have been identified, documented and incorporated into the end to end solution design.
Produces high level cost estimates in collaboration with the project, engineering and test teams
Identify potential project pre-requisites or interdependencies, understand the implications and communicate appropriately to all affected projects, where possible avoiding hard dependencies between projects
Works within the guidelines of the Enterprise Architecture Framework and maintains the information held within the Enterprise Architecture repository
Analyze the current systems portfolio to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements.
Reviews business drivers and strategies, understands the implications to the application architecture, and identifies/mitigates risks to solutions.
Able to clearly communicate design decisions and recommendations including rationale to business & IT stakeholders
Seeks design approval through the technical design authority
Provides design governance during the delivery phase of projects to ensure integrity of the solution design and the effective evaluation of changes
Develop migration strategies to close gaps between current and future states of the application architectures targeting the removal of technical debt as a priority
Champions and communicates the application and integration architecture, as agreed with the TSFM, business leaders and project teams; associating the implication of the architecture to objectives/drivers/goals.
All solutions delivered should be to an agreed standard using agreed industry methodologies with agreed levels of documentation through the agreed SDLC

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
Enterprise middleware technology experience for 3PL/4PL in pharmaceutical, wholesale and/or logistics industry
Extensive knowledge and experience of Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or similar
Minimum 3-5 years in Solution architecture role focused on integration of systems using middleware
OpenText ECS and Delta experience
Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)
Experience Line managing a small team of project based architects
Development or architectural experience in either a senior technical role or a technical management position
Experience of producing project artefacts and communicating ideas / information to other team members and non-technical people;

Experience working with Manhattan Active and Axway technologies
Experience of Applicom ERP
Working for a large multinational matrix organization
Fostering collaboration to align teams to common ways of working
Use of EA tools (e.g Hopex, iServer, Planview)
