About the Role

As a Lead Software Test Automation Engineer, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of our software products. You will be responsible for designing and building robust automation frameworks from scratch, driving automation strategy, and mentoring team members to adopt best practices in test automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks from scratch using modern automation tools.
  • Build and execute advanced automated test suites using Playwright and Selenium.
  • Defining and driving test automation strategy, standards, and best practices across teams.
  • Perform Pull Request (PR) reviews and quality checks to ensure maintainable and high-quality automation code.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to QA engineers on automation architecture and scripting best practices.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster releases.
  • Utilize GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted tools to improve automation scripting efficiency and productivity.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and diagnose performance or reliability issues.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to embed quality across the development lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and recommend new test tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance automation capabilities.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in test automation and quality engineering.
  • Produce clear and comprehensive test documentation, reports, and automation metrics for stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 9+ years of experience in Software Testing with strong focus on test automation.
  • Proven expertise in building automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and Selenium automation frameworks.
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript/Typescript or Java or C# for automation scripting.
  • Experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants for automation test script development.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps or similar tools).
  • Hands-on experience conducting code reviews, PR checks, and enforcing coding standards.
  • Strong understanding of automation architecture, design patterns, and scalable framework development.
  • Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration abilities.
