About this role:
- Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer
- The Front-Line Enterprise Programs Office within CAO Technology is seeking a Senior Full‑Stack Java Engineer to help in supporting the buildout of modern Technology solutions that enable critical Enterprise initiatives related to Global Privacy and Conflicts of Interest Monitoring.
- While both building new and supporting existing Technology Applications, you’ll act as a strong individual contributor on a team developing scalable backend services using Java/Spring Boot while also creating intuitive UI experiences in modern UI frameworks like Angular or React.
- This role involves building new capabilities for workflow & alerting, integrating with upstream systems, and contributing to a modernized Privacy and Enterprise Programs Office Technology ecosystem that drives improved automation, compliance, and real‑time visibility across Wells Fargo for these key Horizontal functions.
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong technical developer with 5+ years of experience developing full-stack distributed applications, with core skills of Spring Boot, Java, Angular/React UI Framework, SQL/Database Experience
- Ability to work on multiple components and modules
- Implement with high-quality product features/user stories collaborating with Leads and Product engineers.
Job Expectation:
- Estimating, and implementing strategies for completing projects on time.
- Guiding the work of less experienced team members – providing clear and concise technical direction and instructions.
- Identifying bottlenecks and collaborating to resolve issues proactively. Escalate risks and work towards continuous improvement of the product.
Additional Requirements Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / MCA.
- Proven technical experience and product delivery.
- Software development experience in Spring Boot, Java, Angular/React UI Framework, REST API and database.
- Experience developing scalable distributed applications using Agile Methodologies.
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience working on Test Driven Automation.
- Experience working in Azure/AWS/Google cloud and containerization technologies.
