The Role: 

Entegris is seeking a motivated Lead Software Engineer to join a dynamic team responsible for particle analyzers, concentration monitors, photochemical dispense pumps, sensors and controllers used in high purity liquid chemical processes for semiconductor manufacturing. This opportunity will be located in Bloomington, MN or Chaska, MN as part of the Fluid Management Business Unit within Entegris’ Advanced Purity Solutions Division. This segment develops technologies that support design and development of the most advanced semiconductor applications in the world.   

 

The Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for sustaining new product development and technical advancement of new product design from concept through commercialization. The Lead Software Engineer should be familiar with stage-gate development and New Product Introduction at low and high volume. Expected to work with Domestic and International company resources and/or vendors to move new concepts from prototype to production.  

What You'll Do:

  • Lead or co-lead projects related to software development and new product introduction, from concept through release Responsibilities include design and concept reviews, prototyping, documentation creation, regulatory certification, design verification test, product validation and qualification, tracking of resources, scoping estimated level of effort for software requests, assessing risk and mitigating 

  • Manage all aspects of the software development lifecycle from incoming requests to implementation to release.  

  • Create, strategize, and align on software roadmaps with business unit. 

  • Perform root cause analysis of software defects experienced in the field.  

  • Manage various internal software repositories, third-party dependencies and outside technical resources. 

  • Automate software testing processes to perform unit, integration, and regression testing. 

  • Optimize software development and testing processes to allow for continuous improvement. 

  • Collaborate cross functionally to create innovative solutions that align with stakeholders, increase speed to market, and reduce overall complexity. 

  • Exhibit sounds judgement and decision making, driven with data, based on schedule and cost impact 

  • Mentor junior engineers, interns, and co-op roles. 

What We Seek: 

  • Leadership: Demonstrated track record and ability to comprehend product design/performance/application/use, improve released products (quality, cost, suppliers, lead-times), translate design intent into scalable and robust manufacturable solutions, manage product configurations, resolve issues quickly, define product specifications/requirements, release comprehensive engineering and process documentation, innovate and create solutions to technical problems 

  • Educational Background: Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent, and 10+ years of directly related experience is required, advanced degree preferred, licensed as a professional engineer is a plus. 

  • Experience: Experience with git, technical documentation (test plans, test reports, process instructions, software specifications, software requirements), and change control. Experience with pumps, pressure/flow controls, optical systems, and embedded linux is a plus. 

  • Technical Proficiency: Applied knowledge of industry standards, languages, and tools such as: C/C++/C#, GitHub, SQLite, Python, WPF, MVVM, WinForms, WxWidgets. 

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and troubleshoot complex systems 

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly 

  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders 

  • Accountability: Detail oriented and ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines, self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 per year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
