Lead Security Officer

What is this role?

As a Lead Security Officer for Cirkul, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the safety, security, and operational integrity of Cirkul’s people, facilities, and brand. As a uniformed Lead Security Officer, you will oversee daily security operations, support and guide Security Officers, and act as the primary point of contact during your shift to ensure compliance with GMP standards and company security protocols.

This role is responsible for executing and supervising day-to-day security functions, while maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment.

What does an average day look like?

Driving Results:

• Oversee and coordinate daily security operations and shift activities to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance.
• Maintain strong situational awareness in a fast-paced warehouse environment involving machinery and personnel.
• Ensure all security officers maintain high performance standards and follow established procedures.

Taking Ownership:

• Serve as the shift lead and subject-matter expert on all security policies, procedures, and GMP requirements.
• Monitor and support security officers to ensure proper execution of patrols, access control, and security protocols.
• Ensure the safety and security of personnel and facilities through physical patrols, inspections, and monitoring of security technologies.

Making Decisions:

• Utilize critical thinking and leadership to assess threats, manage incidents, and implement appropriate responses.
• Control facility access by overseeing identification checks and credential validation for employees, vendors, and visitors.
• Conduct and supervise searches in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Act as the first point of escalation for security incidents and communicate with Security Leadership when necessary.

Cultivating Relationships:

• Foster a positive team environment and provide guidance, direction, and support to Security Officers.
• Build strong working relationships with employees, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
• Use strong interpersonal and communication skills to de-escalate conflicts and maintain control of difficult situations.

Instilling Trust:

• Demonstrate leadership presence, accountability, and reliability during routine operations and emergency situations.
• Ensure all team members follow standard operating procedures and company policies.
• Adapt to changing conditions, new processes, and operational challenges.

Customer Focus:

• Ensure security operations support production, safety, and facility efficiency.
• Report and manage incidents while coordinating with Cirkul’s Security Leadership team.
• Assist in training new Security Officers and reinforcing best practices.

What background should you have?

• 3–5+ years of experience in physical security, military, law enforcement, or security leadership.
• 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to lead teams and manage shift operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work non-traditional schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, or emergency situations.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel short distances between facilities if needed.
• Ability to stand for up to 12 hours and perform physical activities such as walking, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and reaching.
• Strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and security systems.
• Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and GMP standards.
