The Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is responsible for developing software, frameworks, and automation tools to enable the teams to have end-to-end confidence of their applications. Understands coding best practices and patterns and has the capability to automate manual processes to drive quality. Responsible for evaluating requirements and complex problems to redefine them, re-scope them, and transform them into simple solutions. This role enhances the technical agility of Club Labs new product lines. The Lead DET must have a deep understanding of multiple product lines and be able to manage multiple teams.
Job Duties
Design, develop, and maintain thousands of automated tests. Prototype innovative new solutions and create frameworks that support different teams in delivering high-quality products to our members. Work directly with the product development team, product owner, and product manager to understand product vision, strategy, key metrics, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Write test scenarios and test cases.
Provide leadership and guidance on automation methodologies, strategies, and tools, and provide feedback through automation to shorten the feedback loop between developers and QA.
Continuously learn and keep up to date with emerging technologies to evaluate impact to business and member value.
Participate and provide feedback during planning meetings (i.e., pre-iteration, iteration, and retrospectives).
Qualifications
Bachelors Computer and Information Science Required
7-9 years Software development with fundamental experience with object-oriented principles, algorithms, problem solving, and complexity analysis. Required
1-3 years Supervisory Preferred
Scope
Work is accomplished with limited direction. Determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.
Provides resolution to a diverse range of recognizable complex problems. Analysis is required to identify root cause. Uses judgment within defined boundaries to develop alternate solutions, both long and short term. Problem/Task resolution timeframe: Inclusive of shorter timeframes, but typically the majority of tasks take three to six months to resolve.
Functions independently within broad scope of established departmental policies/practices; generally refers specific problems to supervisor only where clarification of departmental operating policies/procedures may be required.
