As a Lead Solutions Architect at Amentum, you will operate at the intersection of mission, technology, and growth—leading the design and delivery of cutting-edge solutions for Intelligence Community (IC) and federal customers. This role will spearhead large-scale, high stakes captures while mentoring a team of solutions architects to deliver technical excellence across Amentum’s capture portfolio. You’ll combine strategic systems thinking, technical storytelling, and customer engagement to deliver innovative, executable solutions that directly address customer needs, accelerate business growth, and secure contract wins.

- Develop Proposal-Ready Artifacts: Partner with capture and business development (BD) teams to create compliant and compelling RFP/RFI responses, including technical volumes, diagrams, white papers, and customer presentations.
- Customer Engagement: Lead customer-facing prototyping efforts, technical workshops, and early-phase pilots to validate approaches and influence customer adoption.
- Emerging Technology Integration: Insert technologies such as AI/ML, Zero Trust, cross-domain solutions, automation, and digital modernization into compelling solutions to address customer needs and differentiate Amentum.
- Competitive Differentiation: Maintain a strong grasp of market and customer alternatives. Use competitive assessments and field intelligence to develop win strategies, technical discriminators, and ghosting narratives.
- Scalable, Secure Systems: Design architectures that meet strict IC standards for security, scalability, and interoperability in multi-vendor and highly segmented environments.
- Capability Gap Analysis: Identify customer pain points and gaps, providing inputs to roadmaps, service offerings, and teaming strategies to bolster positioning and future opportunity alignment.
- Team Leadership
- People Management: Assign and supervise work across your team of solution architects, ensuring alignment with priorities and pursuit needs. Conduct regular 1:1s, offer mentorship, and support team growth through structured development plans.
- Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain repeatable operating rhythms, such as solution development playbooks, reusable reference architectures, and standardized templates, to drive efficiency and proposal quality.
- Delivery Handover: Partner with program/delivery teams to ensure seamless transitions by outlining clear assumptions, technical risks, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
- Strategic Contributions
- Win Strategy Development: Shape and refine integrated win themes, customer “hot button” narratives, and discriminators for high-value pursuits.
- Gate Reviews & Color Reviews: Participate in capture gate reviews and lead technical discussions during color reviews to ensure solutions reflect customer needs and scoring criteria.
