Roles and Responsibilities
Combine knowledge of CT, engineering, and clinical needs to design and drive collaborative research projects aligned to new developments in artificial intelligence (improving CT exam workflow -from patient setup, data acquisition and reconstruction to image analysis and interpretation) and photon counting CT.
Support GEHC research partners and product teams in execution of research initiatives to support evidence generation.
Work cross-functionally with GEHC team of scientists and engineers to implement prototypes, develop evidence base, and support translation to product readiness
Conduct original research resulting in patent applications and scientific publications
Effectively communicate technical analyses and results to GEHC leadership, academic partners, and at scientific congresses and meetings.
Explore unmet clinical and technical needs with external collaborators and translate to define and grow research and development needs. Maintain and grow collaborator networks and drive insights into product roadmap planning and marketing for appropriate utilization of results.
Use and further develop research tools to enable current and future research. Partner with engineering to handoff implementation and integration of research tools in product environment.
Seek out and share opportunities to expand resources and partnerships based on country specific initiatives (e.g. grants)
Identify industry and academic trends in the areas of CT research and development relevant to GEHC
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or science field such as Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math, or Physics, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience (Medical Imaging, Image Processing application development preferred) applying theoretical or experiential knowledge to solve real world problems
Demonstrated experience in CT research and development
Foundation in theories underlying machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques
Demonstrated expertise in CT physics and clinical applications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated team work skills
Strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
Can-do attitude, self-driven, flexible, intellectually curious, willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges to meet business goals
Excellent English language communication skills
Desired Characteristics
Ph.D. Degree in an engineering or science field such as Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math or Physics.
Track record and experience in publishing scientific articles, with key emphasis in CT physics and applications
Experience with High Performance Compute or GPU technologies
Experience in artificial intelligence development and utilization in scientific work
Experience working in a clinical environment
