What you will do in this role:
Knowledgeable in the use of measurement equipment (examples: Vernier’s, micrometers, durometers, etc.). Experience with Vision-based CMM systems (examples: Smartscopes, OGP, Hexagon). Creates programs for automated inspection equipment. Performs program verifications. Trains inspection and operations on use of equipment and programs. May repair, modify and/or maintain systems and measurement equipment. Develops and executes testing methods. Understands and applies sampling plans.
Ensure or Establish Controls for Products and Processes
Designs, compiles, or completes quality records, reports, and/or documentation ensuring GDP (Good Documentation Practices) are applied.
Coordinates complex testing according to procedures or Engineering direction. May perform failure analysis and/or troubleshooting.
Recommends appropriate gages and other equipment for the measurement of products or parts.
Participates in problem solving and provides input for process/product evaluations for continuous improvement.
Recommends, assembles, and installs equipment/apparatus and processes for production, product development, inspection, and testing.
Utilizes equipment and ensures current calibration. May repair, modify and/or maintain equipment.
Performs inspections in accordance with authorized specification and applicable quality standards.
Makes recommendations to existing work instructions to improve quality, clarity, and/or efficiency.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Provide Leadership
Coordinates the activities of other technicians.
Reports progress and metrics to management.
Leads projects and mentor other technicians.
Grow on the job and help others succeed
Expands skill base through on-the-job training, cross training, and classroom instruction.
Trains personnel in proper techniques to utilize systems, equipment, and processes.
Provides support/guidance, data, and analysis to other departments.
Supports performance reviews and talent calibration processes.

Continually seeks to drive improvements in product and process quality and identifies and escalates quality non-conformances to assist in achieving company quality objectives and key business metrics.

What sets you apart:
Minimum Education (preferred):
High school graduate or equivalent may be required, associate degree or experience in area of technical expertise may be preferred.
Minimum Experience (preferred):
8-10 years of experience in manufacturing or regulated industry.
Specialized Knowledge:
Understanding of GD&T.
Understanding of the ISO9001/ISO13485 quality standards preferred
Product knowledge helpful
Special Skills:
Strong computer operation skills
Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings/prints
Proficiency reading and understanding work instructions.
Proficiency with the use of measurement tools/equipment and hand gages to measure physical dimensions on parts (e.g. pin gage, caliper, optical comparator, etc.).
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Detail oriented and organized.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Salary range for this position is $28.16-$41.30.

Our compensation program includes base wages, a cash-based incentive program supporting our pay-for-performance philosophy, overtime pay, shift differentials, and call-in pay, when applicable. Parental leave is available after one year. Optional employee-paid programs include supplemental life insurance, critical illness, hospital indemnity and accident insurance. Employees are immediately eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan with company matching contributions. We provide 80 hours (10 days) of company designated holidays per year plus an annual allotment of paid time off.
