Lead QA/Test Automation Engineer

What is the Opportunity?

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead QA/Test Automation Engineer with expertise in automation testing and AI-driven quality solutions to lead innovation in our Core and Realtime Payments QE team. This role will spearhead the design and implementation of advanced automation frameworks, drive proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives, and integrate AI/ML technologies to elevate test coverage, efficiency, and delivery speed. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed quality engineering practices within our DevOps pipeline while mentoring onshore and offshore team members.

What will you do?

  • Automation Leadership: Architect, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, mobile, and API testing (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Cypress).

  • AI/ML Integration: Lead POCs to evaluate and implement AI-driven solutions, including intelligent test case generation, defect prediction, and test optimization.

  • CI/CD Enablement: Ensure seamless integration of automation into DevOps pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

  • Technical Innovation: Develop custom utilities, libraries, and plugins to enhance automation capabilities and efficiency.

  • Quality Advocacy: Conduct code/test reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor teams on advanced automation and AI/ML concepts.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyze test results, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations using data analytics and visualization tools.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with development, QA, and DevOps teams to align on quality goals and improve processes.

  • This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a passion for quality engineering, and the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Expertise in programming languages: Python, Java, or C#.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing custom automation frameworks.

  • Deep knowledge of automation tools (Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Cypress) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and integrating AI into test automation.

  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and RESTful API testing.

  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with NLP, computer vision, or generative AI applied to testing.

  • Contributions to open-source automation/AI projects.

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
