Lead Project Manager

Job Purpose

The role is responsible for the delivery of cybersecurity-related solutions for use throughout GSK. Responsibilities include the management of project schedules, deliverables, and stakeholder communications while simultaneously fostering Agile best practices within our teams. This role bridges traditional project management and Agile frameworks, to ensure seamless alignment between strategic business objectives and team-level execution. The role requires strong technical knowledge of IT systems, proficiency with Agile methodologies, and proven track record of successfully managing projects to ensure timely delivery of high-quality IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Collaborate with technical leads to define project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables for IT-focused initiatives

  • Manage project dependencies and mitigate risks related to IT projects

  • Act as the primary point of contact between internal teams, external vendors, and business stakeholders.

  • Provide regular status updates, showing progress relative to key milestones, metrics, and business goals.

  • Ensure all project deliverables align with regulatory laws, corporate and local policies and service principles

Agile Scrum Master

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives) for IT product teams.

  • Ensure a clear understanding of user stories, acceptance criteria, and priorities.

  • Coach cross-functional IT teams on Agile best practices and principles like incremental delivery, transparency, and self-organization.

  • Recognize and proactively remove roadblocks impacting team delivery

  • Monitor Agile metrics such as velocity, burn rates, and cycle times to identify improvement opportunities for team performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field.

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or SAFe Scrum Master certification preferred.

  • Project management certifications like PMP or PRINCE2 are strongly desired.

Experience

  • 5 to 8 years of experience as a Project Manager or Scrum Master in IT environments, pharmaceutical industry preferred

  • Proven ability to manage projects in Agile, waterfall, or hybrid environments.

  • Experience collaborating across departments and managing multiple projects/Agile teams simultaneously

Technical Skills

  • Expertise with Agile and project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.

  • Hands-on knowledge of enterprise IT systems, databases, and cybersecurity protocols is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of Agile frameworks and practices (Scrum, Kanban).

  • Exposure to change management principles and practices is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Agile at scale (e.g., SAFe) is advantageous.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to liaise between business and IT stakeholders on technical projects

  • Detail-oriented problem solving with a focus on quick resolution of technical blockers

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid workplace environment by leveraging virtual and in-person tools effectively.
