Job Summary: You will serve as a Lead Production Controller (Piping Systems) in the Waterfront Operations department of FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA.

Major Duties:

  • You will provide leadership in training, advice, review, and recommendations to FDRMC’s government Production Controller and contractor planners.
  • You will be responsible for preparing definitive work specifications, estimates and Technical Advisory Reports (TARS) for all ships and craft assigned to the area of responsibility.
  • You will plan and estimate depot level work specifications to be executed by a contracted workforce.
  • You will lead the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.
  • You will provide technical direction and guidance to planners in the review, guidance and completion of work.
  • You will perform ship-check inspections and generate technical documents used to determine ship's material condition.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing work specifications, detailed reports and statements of work to support the planning of shipbuilding, ship repair, and modernization availabilities; 2) Performing long range planning, estimating and accomplishing technical analysis of customer and contractor proposals; and 3) Reviewing and invoking technical requirements to ensure compliance with appropriate shipbuilding procedures, contracts and specification.
