Payment Enablement Program
The Payment Enablement program provides a suite of value-added switching services to each qualified transaction processed by Mastercard, increasing the security, accessibility, and simplicity of data for participating customers. We are an agile development organization with teams distributed globally across technology hubs in the U.S. and India. We are looking for a Lead Product Manager – Technical focused on Strategy.

Role & Responsibilities

As a Lead Product Manager - Technical focused on Strategy, you are expected to perform the following strategic responsibilities:
• Develops and articulates the long-term strategic vision for payment enablement and value-added services, ensuring alignment with Mastercard’s broader business objectives.
• Leads cross-functional strategic planning sessions to identify market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for innovation or differentiation within the platform.
• Drives the creation and communication of strategic roadmaps, ensuring clear prioritization of initiatives based on business impact, customer value, and market needs.
• Owns and maintains Initiatives and Epics in AHA
• Partners with business leaders, product teams, and external stakeholders to define and validate the strategic direction of the platform and related products.
• Evaluates and champions new business models, partnerships, and go-to-market strategies to expand Mastercard’s reach and relevance in the digital payments ecosystem.
• Monitors industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies; synthesizes insights to inform strategic recommendations and product positioning.
• Identifies and mitigates strategic risks that could impact platform growth or adoption, providing guidance to senior leadership on critical decisions.
• Facilitates executive-level presentations and strategy updates, ensuring stakeholders are aligned and informed on progress, pivots, and achievements.
• Coordinates and supports organizational change initiatives, ensuring teams are equipped and engaged to deliver on strategic priorities.
• Mentors team members in strategic thinking, business analysis, and leadership skills

• Experience leading strategic initiatives in technology, payments, or financial services, preferably with a platform or ecosystem focus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to synthesize complex data and trends into clear recommendations.
• Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and building consensus across diverse teams.
• Exceptional communication skills; able to convey strategy and vision to executives, partners, and technical teams with clarity and credibility.
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments; adaptable and resilient in driving change.
• Demonstrated ability to operate with complete independence and autonomy
• Proven track record of data driven decision making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across your team
• Can debate the product merits with business teams, architects, engineers, and designers to make the right trade-off decisions
• Experience in agile delivery methodologies (scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree in business, strategy, engineering, computer science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Pay Ranges

O'Fallon, Missouri: $130,000 - $221,000 USD
