Overview
The Mastercard Software Builders Experience (MSBX) team is looking for a Product Manager-Technical to drive the transformation of developer experience across Mastercard.
In this role you will advocate for our Software Engineers, Operations and others by talking to them and understanding their use cases and pain points, work they do, things they care about the most, tools they use day to day, etc. Understand the journey and user experience to enable them to rapidly develop, deploy, and scale their applications across multiple platforms.
Work closely with the engineering teams to roll out the platform capabilities that our internal customer’s desire. Identify and gather key metrics to track product usage, quality, and satisfaction and make decisions about product roadmap and prioritization.
Role
Serves as a senior technical product leader, partnering with Software Engineers, and other stakeholders to drive product strategy and execution.
Owns the end-to-end vision, roadmap, and delivery of complex technical products, aligning long-term business objectives with scalable technical solutions.
Leads requirements definition by translating ambiguous business and customer needs into well-defined features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Sets prioritization standards and governs backlog health across initiatives, ensuring engineering teams are consistently supported with high-quality, execution-ready work.
Acts as a domain authority, developing deep expertise and influencing product direction beyond the scope of individual projects or teams.
Champions platform thinking by driving reuse of foundational building blocks and establishing best practices that accelerate delivery and innovation.
Mentors and influences other product managers, raising the bar on product quality, technical rigor, and customer impact.
All About You
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
Strong technical foundation (SDLC, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, etc.)
Extensive experience leading the development and launch of complex products and technologies at scale.
Proven ownership of product vision, go-to-market strategy, and leadership of cross-functional design and technical discussions.
Demonstrated success creating and owning long-term product roadmaps while partnering closely with engineering, design, and business stakeholders.
Hands-on experience defining and scaling cloud-native software products as part of a large-scale cloud platform.
Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of independence and autonomy, setting direction in ambiguous environments.
Strong track record of data-driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams and initiatives.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across organizations without direct authority.
Strong experience with agile delivery methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Rally), including setting standards and driving execution rigor.
Executive-level communication skills, with the ability to clearly and authentically communicate complex ideas to senior leaders, peers, and engineering teams.
Accountable for ensuring features and associated documentation are clear, scalable, and easily consumable by partner engineering teams.
Demonstrated success building durable organizational relationships, partnering effectively across teams, and earning trust and respect through technical and product leadership.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. New York City, New York: $156,000 - $265,000 USD
