About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Product Manager to join our WIM Product Organization with a focus on API strategy, creation, onboarding, and lifecycle management. This role is critical to supporting our current technology landscape while driving a scalable API strategy as we continue to grow.
This role will manage and evolve the API ecosystem that enables third-party application onboarding and integration, enhancing optionality for financial advisors. Additional responsibilities include leading or participating in product management initiatives and deliverables, reviewing and analyzing new API capabilities, integrations, and enhancements, and actively participating in strategic planning and agile ceremonies.
In this role, you will:
- Advise experienced leadership to develop or influence business plans, business requirements, product roadmaps, and implementation strategies for complex business and technical needs, including API-based platforms
- Oversee overall product management and strategic focus for highly technical, complex, and diverse products and services, with specific ownership of APIs
- Deliver solutions that are long-term and large-scale, requiring consideration of regulatory requirements, data security, risk management, and external partner dependencies
- Define and own the API product vision, including scope, prioritization, roadmap development, and backlog management
- Partner with technology, architecture, security, and risk teams to ensure APIs meet enterprise, regulatory, and compliance standards
- Lead teams in designing, developing, and delivering APIs, integration frameworks, and supporting processes that enable third-party onboarding and ongoing support
- Engage with leaders, stakeholders, subject matter experts, scrum masters, project managers, and delivery teams across the company
- Manage API and platform release preparation and post-release business validation testing
- Experience resolving and working through escalated and complex integration or partner issues
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Product Management, product development, strategic planning, process management, change delivery experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience managing API products, including lifecycle management, versioning, documentation, and partner enablement
- Ability to develop a deep understanding of the product team’s systems, processes, priorities, and technologies and represent them to all levels of product leadership
- Experience guiding teams outside of the product group to minimize dependencies, bottlenecks, and knowledge silos
- Deep understanding of Agile principles, including iterative delivery, backlog management, and collaboration across engineering, design, and business partners.
- Strong ability to establish and maintain effective communication and relationships across product areas, departments, and Centers of Excellence (COEs)
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and apply creative problem-solving techniques
- Highly refined and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the brokerage industry, including products, services, operational policies, and procedures
- Experience resolving and working through escalated and complex integration or partner issues
Job Expectations:
- This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check.
