Lead Platform Engineer

 

 

So, what’s the role all about?

We are looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to join the X‑Sight Platform Engineering team at NICE Actimize. 

This role is a hands-on technical leadership position, focused on designing, building, and evolving common platform building blocks used across all X‑Sight Lines of Business (LOBs). The Platform Engineering team owns the horizontal capabilities that enable our SaaS products to scale, innovate faster, and operate reliably. 

The ideal candidate is passionate about technology advancement, cloud‑native platforms, and developer enablement, and thrives on setting technical direction while still writing and reviewing production‑grade code. 

How will you make an impact?  

Platform & Architecture Leadership 

• Lead the design and evolution of shared platform capabilities used by multiple X‑Sight products and teams. 

• Define and promote standardized building blocks (frameworks, libraries, templates, services) to reduce duplication and accelerate delivery. 

• Drive architectural decisions that support advanced SaaS requirements such as scale, multi‑tenancy, isolation, resiliency, and compliance. 

Technology Advancement 

• Actively push for modern technologies and practices across the platform (cloud‑native, GitOps, infrastructure as code, API‑first design, automation). 

• Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and cloud services, and lead their adoption when they provide clear value. 

• Continuously improve the platform’s security, reliability, and observability posture. 

Developer & Product Enablement 

• Build internal platform tools and self‑service capabilities that improve developer productivity and operational safety. 

• Partner closely with X‑Sight R&D teams, architects, and product owners to understand needs and translate them into reusable platform solutions. 

• Serve as a technical mentor and force multiplier across engineering teams. 

Operational Excellence 

• Ensure platform components are production‑ready, well‑documented, observable, and designed for safe operation at scale. 

• Contribute to incident analysis, reliability improvements, and proactive resilience initiatives. 

• Promote a strong culture of ownership, quality, and automation. 

 

Have you got what it takes?

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role. 
• Strong hands‑on experience building cloud‑native platforms (AWS preferred). 
• Proven experience designing and owning shared systems or frameworks used by multiple teams. 
• Solid background in distributed systems, SaaS architectures, and production operations. 

You will have an advantage if you also have:

Technical Skills 

• Strong programming skills (Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, or similar). 

• Deep understanding of cloud and Kubernetes‑based platforms. 

• Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure as code (e.g., ArgoCD, Terraform, Crossplane). 

• Familiarity with observability stacks (metrics, logs, traces) and operational best practices. 

• Strong understanding of security, identity, and compliance considerations in SaaS environments. 

Leadership & Mindset 

• A technology leader who balances long‑term vision with pragmatic execution. 

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence without authority. 

• Passion for building platforms that others love to use. 

• A strong sense of ownership and accountability.
