About the role

AGL has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Planner to join our Renewables – Wind team, based at either our Adelaide or Melbourne corporate offices, supporting the planning and work management functions that keep our wind assets operating safely, reliably and efficiently.

In this role, you’ll provide strategic and hands‑on leadership across maintenance planning, scheduling and work management for AGL’s wind portfolio. Working closely with planners, schedulers, site leadership, engineering, maintenance teams and external contractors, you’ll ensure high‑quality, well‑coordinated work plans and schedules that support strong safety outcomes, asset reliability and long‑term operational performance.

Location

This role can be based in our Adelaide or Melbourne offices or any one of AGL’s wind farm assets across Victoria and South Australia, while supporting wind operations across South Australia and Victoria. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Embedding strong safety leadership through planning practices that focus on hazard identification, risk mitigation and safe execution

  • Providing leadership, coaching and support to planners, schedulers and the SAP Master Data Specialist

  • Championing improvements to planning processes, scheduling methods, backlog management and SAP/Prometheus utilisation 

  • Overseeing planning performance, workload management, capability development and consistent planning standards

  • Providing insights and recommendations on planning KPIs, risks and continuous improvement opportunities 

  • Leading the development of high‑quality weekly, medium‑term and long‑term maintenance schedules 

  • Supporting the planning of complex multi‑disciplinary work orders across wind sites, including outage planning and major component replacements

  • Working closely with the SAP Master Data Specialist to enhance data integrity and compliance

  • Coordinating with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure schedule readiness and efficient execution

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated leadership capability with experience coaching, mentoring and developing technical teams

  • Extensive experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within heavy industrial, utilities or power generation environments

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, Prometheus and work management frameworks

  • Highly effective communication and influencing skills with the ability to align diverse stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to assess challenges, prioritise effectively and drive improvement

  • Proven experience managing complex planning portfolios, competing priorities and dynamic operational requirements

  • Practical experience producing high‑quality work packs, outage plans and long‑term schedules

  • Demonstrated ability to implement new processes, system enhancements or planning improvements

  • Engineering or trade qualifications, or extensive equivalent planning/scheduling experience

  • Solid computer skills across Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
