The Department

The Technical Development team develops and delivers both innovative and sustainable products for Tommy Hilfiger. Responsible for the end-to-end technical development of the product, from initial concept through to physical garments, pioneering high quality & product excellence, as well as delivering on company & divisional KPI’s.
Closely partnering with several stakeholders, from PD (Product Development), design & merchandising, through to global teams this role plays an intricate part in delivering the Tommy Hilfiger brand DNA. 
 

 

The Position:

Highly skilled in the technical development of apparel with expertise in creating and maintaining block libraries and supporting the development of seasonal silhouettes across a global supply base.

 

Responsible for multiple product categories throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring accurate silhouette translation, precise fit, and standardized construction and workmanship to deliver optimal production results.

 

Working closely with peers, regional teams, and supply partners to apply best practices and technical knowledge for product excellence. Contributes to refining processes and standards within the discipline while promoting collaboration and alignment across teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

Include, but not limited to:

  • Lead category-specific research and development, focusing on pattern engineering, fit consistency, and silhouette innovation.

  • Collaborate closely with design, merchandising, and product development teams to interpret sketches, translate creative concepts into accurate patterns, and ensure collections meet market needs and deadlines.

  • Own technical KPIs, including fit improvement, grading accuracy, and quality optimization across multiple product categories.

  • Conduct and lead fit sessions, analyzing garment construction, capturing feedback, implementing pattern adjustments, and communicating changes internally and to global supply partners.

  • Maintain precise technical data in PLM systems, ensuring accuracy of measurements and specifications throughout the development process.

  • Monitor and adhere to the critical path, supporting timely development and production to achieve on-time delivery at every stage.

  • Work closely with PVH overseas offices, sourcing teams and production vendors to resolve fit and quality issues.

  • Mentor and support junior team members, sharing pattern-making knowledge and building technical capability within the team.

  • Perform ad hoc tasks, including technical analysis, meeting preparation, and reporting as required.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 10+ years of experience in pattern cutting and technical apparel development, specializing in fit, grading, and garment construction.

  • Degree in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, Pattern Cutting, or the equivalent in experience.

  • Expert in multi-category apparel development, with strong knowledge of pattern engineering and technical construction.

  • Proficient in PLM and Gerber for accurate technical workflows.

  • Skilled in solving complex technical challenges and refining processes for operational excellence.

  • Commercially aware and collaborative, fostering teamwork across design, merchandising, sourcing, and global supply partners.

  • Proven successful thriving in fast-paced environments with a high level of resilience, and a practical, hands-on approach.

  • Experienced managing workload, setting priorities and managing expectations with stakeholders

  • Fluent in English, with strong communication skills.
