The Role
We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer for our road and highways projects in Karachi, Pakistan. The role will be responsible for leading mechanical design, review, and implementation activities to ensure efficient, reliable, and technically sound solutions in line with project requirements and applicable standards.

  • Lead and oversee mechanical engineering design and review activities related to road and highways infrastructure projects, including mechanical systems associated with tunnels, pumping stations, utilities, and associated facilities.
  • Prepare and review mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, and technical reports, ensuring compliance with project requirements, relevant codes, and industry standards.
  • Provide technical input and guidance during design development, procurement, and construction phases, ensuring quality and functionality of mechanical systems.
  • Review contractor submissions, method statements, shop drawings, and resolve mechanical engineering issues arising during project execution.
  • Identify project risks related to mechanical systems and recommend practical mitigation measures to minimize impacts on cost, schedule, and performance.

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, preferably on road and highways or major infrastructure projects in Pakistan.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems design, relevant international and local standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience in design review, technical coordination, and construction support.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and site personnel.
