As Lead IT Financial Analyst this role will focus on the financial aspects of Information Technology within an organization. Analyze IT costs, develop budgets, forecast future IT spending, and provide financial guidance to IT leadership and other stakeholders. This role is crucial in ensuring that IT investments align with business goals and contribute to the overall financial health of the company, with a focus on hardware / software maintenance.
Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis: Developing and managing IT hardware / software maintenance budgets, forecasting future IT expenses, and analyzing actual versus planned spending.
Cost Management: Identifying opportunities to optimize IT costs, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effectiveness of IT operations.
Financial Modeling: Creating and maintaining financial models to evaluate the financial impact of IT projects, investments, and initiatives.
Reporting and Analysis: Preparing financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for IT management and other stakeholders, including variance analysis and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking.
Strategic Support: Providing financial insights and recommendations to IT leadership on strategic decisions, such as technology investments, vendor selection, and resource allocation.
Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
Collaboration: Working closely with IT teams, finance departments, and other stakeholders to gather data, understand business requirements, and communicate financial information.
Project Support: Providing financial guidance and support to IT project teams throughout the project lifecycle. Maintaining project financials and forecasting.
Trend Analysis: Identifying and analyzing trends in IT spending, costs, and performance to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant work experience. Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
8+ years of FP&A experience in a large corporate environment.
Experience working in an IT environment a plus
Skills and Knowledge
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting, and budgeting.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and develop insights.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting tools, including Excel, financial software, and potentially ERP systems.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences.
Problem-Solving: Critical thinking skills, strong problem-solving abilities to address financial challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Identifies opportunities and levers for IT stakeholders.
