Major Duties:

  • As a Lead International Trade Compliance Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Serves as a Lead International Trade Compliance Analyst advising the IMAU Director on organizational and managerial issues related to steel and aluminum trade developments and the impacts on the U.S. domestic industry. Ensures compliance with U.S. import laws for Steel and Aluminum, through U.S. Department of Commerce's Import Monitoring and Analysis programs by monitoring licensing data and verifying adherence to applicable regulations and reporting requirements. Identify data discrepancies, anomalies, and potential violations; conducts compliance reviews and develops analytical findings to support investigations and enforcement actions. Provides analysis of global steel and aluminum industry developments, including investments, plant closures, financial conditions, production capacity changes, and other market developments affecting U.S. import monitoring. Analyzes, and interprets large and complex trade datasets and utilizes integrated databases to draw heavily data-driven conclusions that support analytical reports, leadership briefings, and policy discussions. Leads a team of analysts in coordinating workflows related to the compliance, collection, validation, and updating of data supporting IMAU monitoring systems, databases, and analytical reports. Articulates and communicates to the IMAU team work performed, actionable events, milestones, program issues under review, and deadlines and timeframes for completion. Prepares reports and maintains records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinates the preparation, presentation, and communication of work-related information to the supervisor. Qualifications: To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must meet the following requirement: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13, in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Applying laws, regulations, or policy frameworks to ensure compliance within a regulatory or trade-related program. Analyzing large or complex datasets or information sources to identify trends, discrepancies, risks, or potential issues and support findings or recommendations. Evaluating program, industry, or operational information to assess impacts and support decision-making, reporting, or oversight activities. Leading or coordinating analytical work, projects, or program activities and communicating findings, work progress, or program issues to stakeholders and leadership in support of program objectives.
