ROLE SUMMARY

Subject matter expert on regulatory & commercial pricing landscape in IPM; fosters regional / global pricing team relationships and partnerships along with in market collaboration to drive pricing value realization of pipeline and launch assets across Pfizer India businesses

Owner of pricing protocol governance, oversight and continuous improvement, responsible for process audits, risk mitigation / remediation and adherence to global protocols for inline pricing value realization

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Pipeline and New Launch Pricing

  • Foster relationships and collaboration with regional / global pricing organizations (GASP) across all therapy areas of Pfizer India presence to a. Learn, adopt, customize and disseminate global / regional approach on pipeline and launch asset pricing, relevant to India market considerations and strategic imperatives, and b. Drive advocacy and appreciation of India pricing environment nuances with global / regional pricing teams to influence global pricing guidance from India perspective

  • As subject matter expert on regulatory pricing landscape and commercial pricing strategies within Indian Pharma Market landscape, develop independent pricing recommendations for pipeline and new launch assets 

  • Collaborate with commercial, regulatory, business analytics and other relevant functions to develop cross-functionally aligned pricing recommendations submitted for global pricing approvals. 

  • Represent India market on regional / global pricing forums, including presentation of pricing proposals and related business rationale / market research / analyses etc. to drive regional endorsement of India pricing proposals 

  • Ownership of adherence to global pricing approval governance process, including education of governance protocols with in-market stakeholders. 

  • Co-create designing pricing market research projects- affordability and willingness to pay studies for informed pricing benchmarking and decisions to optimize business opportunity and patient access.

  • Provide pricing inputs in the evaluation of pipeline products with aim to support and arrive at optimum business opportunity to assist in go no go decisions.

Inline Pricing Governance and Value 

  • Set up systems and process to take timely price increase of scheduled as well as non-scheduled products and maximize business opportunity.

  • Support in pricing audits, take corrective and preventive actions to strengthen thepricing operations and governance.

  • Guide and manage pricing contractors team to manage pricing in SAP including schemes, contracts, margins structures, L1 price points et. Al. Timely release of pricing circulars 

  • internally as well as internally. 

  • Pricing process ownership for price changes or product discontinuation for scheduled products

Key Deliverables: independent / shared deliverables

  • Inclusion and assimilation of India market nuances in global pricing guidance documents 

  • Cross functional alignment on pricing proposal submissions

  • Global and regional endorsement on India pricing proposals for new launch assets

  • Pricing PoV on launch prioritization and go vs. no-go decision for pipeline products. 

  • India market adherence to global pricing governance protocols

  • Value realization for inline (scheduled and non-scheduled) price increases

  • Continuous improvement in system and process to improve efficiency, compliance and risk mitigation

  • Successful audits of pricing governance and protocol

  • Timeline and regular update / circulation of pricing and scheme circulars 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10-15 years of subject matter expertise in pharmaceutical pricing landscape, pricing analytics

  • Proven track record of Commercial and Analytical pricing expertise (incl. pricing market research experience) 

  • Strong business acumen, specifically pricing as lever to realize commercial value

  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills with ability to foster strong above country and in-country multi-stakeholder relationships 

  • Interpersonal skills with demonstrated expertise w/r/t influence without authority

  • Knowledge of pricing regulatory environment and related commercial implications

  • Significant operations excellence and operations governance expertise with ability to own complex process-flows 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Marketing, Medical, Finance, New product team, leadership team, Regional Health and value stake holders including Global Access & Strategic Pricing teams, legal, regulatory teams

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

  • 3 contractual resources for pricing processes management and oversight
