As a Riser Design Engineer - Global Analyst, you will receive appropriate training to allow you to work within the Baker Hughes Flexible Pipe Systems Engineering team to provide global analysis engineering support from bid acquisition through to project execution. You will work within a passionate technical team to design solutions for global customers on major projects.

The Global Analysis Team at Baker Hughes create simulation models for our flexible pipes to predict loading, test scenarios and define ancillary requirements. We work closely with other engineering functions and are a fundamental defining the scope of projects. The Global Analyst will utilise software tools to imagine subsea configurations and simulate real world operating conditions to test the proposed solution. We work within the project or tender team to ensure our analysis work brings value to our customers at every stage. The role offers opportunity to be creative, design solutions, plus to explore detailed engineering interactions. We provide full training for the software tools and use detailed methodology standards to guide what we do. The role offers an opportunity to learn about the products and services of a truly global business whilst developing your engineering skillset as part of our engineer organisation.

As a Lead Global Analysis Engineer you will be involved in:

  • Creating dynamic models in FEA software simulating structure response in the offshore environment
  • Designing and analyzing flexible riser systems to meet Client specifications and industry standards
  • Assessing environmental and vessel data for implementation into a system model
  • Handling and processing of data and results
  • Producing comprehensive analysis reports for submission as part of either study or Project Execution work
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives targeting improvements in productivity and on time delivery
  • Supporting software automation efforts
  • Working as part of a bigger project team

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Science or Mathematics discipline.
  • Have some understanding of Finite Element Analysis
  • Have a knowledge of structural mechanics, stress analysis and buckling strength analysis of structural components
  • Have the ability to write technical reports, business correspondence; and organise and provide technical documentation for customer evaluation
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability.
  • Be a team player, contributes to a close engineering team dynamic.
  • Have a Permanent work permit in UK
