As Humana accelerates its transformation into an AI-enabled enterprise, the Lead Full Stack Engineer is a pivotal role responsible for driving strategic adoption of artificial intelligence tools and platforms across the organization. The Lead Engineer will provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in designing, developing, and deploying AI-driven solutions and proofs-of-concept (POCs) that improve associate productivity, enhance customer engagement, and advance operational efficiency. This role will guide innovative thinking, support cross-functional AI projects, and ensure alignment with best practices across multiple programming languages and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, AI-powered solutions to automate agent workflows and improve enterprise operations.
- Architect and scale AI initiatives, integrating AI into enterprise processes for enhanced decision-making across business units.
- Rapidly prototype and deliver showcase-ready AI tools to demonstrate innovation and drive executive buy-in.
- Oversee technical assessment and integration of AI hardware, ensuring compliance with security, performance, and regulatory standards for sensitive workloads.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to contract engineers and junior team members engaged in AI projects, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Collaborate with business and technology partners to mature use cases and facilitate AI adoption throughout the organization.
- Establish and promote best practices in software engineering, DevOps, and AI solution delivery across the team.
- Own technical project delivery from inception to completion, ensuring milestones are met and solutions are aligned with Humana’s strategic objectives.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
- 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and testing enterprise software applications and infrastructure.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with LLMs (AI models): deployment, fine-tuning, and integration.
- Advanced programming skills in Python, .NET, and Java.
- Deep expertise in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (React, Angular).
- Strong experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proven track record with DevOps practices and platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub).
- Experience architecting and managing CI/CD pipelines and utilizing repository management tools.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
- Excellent communication skills for technical discussions, stakeholder presentations, and leadership updates.
- Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring development teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot complex issues and experiment with emerging technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with Artifactory for artifact repository management.
- Prior exposure to AI and machine learning techniques applied to business use cases.
- History of successful cross-functional collaboration on enterprise AI initiatives.

Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$129,300 - $177,800 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
