Salary Range: $55882 - $72644 Per Year

Job Summary: You will serve as a LEAD FIREFIGHTER in the Marine Corps - Fire and Emergency Services of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR.

Major Duties:

  • You will lead and participate with a crew of firefighters to prevent loss of life and property in emergency situations.
  • You will direct the crew in firefighting activities working from specific orders from higher level supervisors.
  • You will direct the Engineer or Driver Operator to emergency scenes following predetermined routes or select alternate routes as necessary.
  • You will direct the positioning of vehicles, considering such factors as wind direction, water sources, hazard from structural collapse, trees and/or overhead power lines, etc.
  • You will establish command and ensure all firefighting activities are conducted in a safe and effective manner until relieved by a higher-ranking officer
  • You will be responsible for training your crews to be alert for potential hazard during emergency and non-emergency operations.
  • You will direct and participate in fire station maintenance projects and ground upkeep.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading and directing day to day emergency and non-emergency responsibilities, tasks, and duties of the workforce; AND proficient in fighting fires of structural, wildland, perform emergency medical, hazardous materials, urban search and rescue, emergency services communications, and fire prevention activities.
