Lead Financial Planning Advisor (Hybrid)

$88,000.00 - $145,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

The Lead Financial Planning Advisor is responsible for providing the process for ground-up financial planning and analysis and company decision making. You will support enterprise FP&A with advanced data management and analytical capabilities. You will implement processes for consistently improving monthly financial and operating reporting, budgeting/forecasting, and financial analysis. You will also provide analysis and assistance within the overall effort to drive financial planning. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with large, complex datasets and building scalable solutions that improve decision‑making across the organization. You will report to the Senior Manager, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis
 

In this flex office/home role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from either Madison, WI 53783 or Boston, MA 02110

Primary Accountabilities

  • You will facilitate and lead the annual planning process and meetings for the division.
  • You will serve as expert resource for operational analysis and planning to other team members.
  • You will present divisional plans and analyses to leadership and provide guidance.
  • You will collaborate with leadership to implement business plan initiatives and monitor ongoing progress.
  • You will lead the analysis of actual performance against budget and the annual business plan and make recommendations.
  • You will communicate divisional performance metrics within and outside the division.
  • You will lead the planning and development of various financial analyses needed for divisional initiatives.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Deep experience with big data environments and large‑scale data consolidation
  • Strong skills in data modeling, automation, and building repeatable processes
  • Proficiency in Python, GCP, SQL (data transformation, automation, analytics)
  • Ability to integrate and manage data from multiple sources/systems
  • Comfortable partnering with Finance, Technology, and cross‑functional teams
  • Strong communicator who can turn data into clear, actionable insights
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of business planning processes and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting business plan and financial information to leadership.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of insurance accounting and operations.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of forecasting techniques and/or data modeling.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of financial reporting, budget, and forecasting techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience performing basic financial and/or operational analysis.
  • Travel Requirements up to 5%
