What will you do?

The Lead Financial Analyst drives results for the Johnson Controls IT Finance organization, in partnership with our Project Management organization to accurately reflect the financials for our projects executed by our Johnson Controls IT organization.  The role will partner with project management organization to partner on the planning and control of financial results consistent with long-term business objectives and execute on the vision of IT Finance strategy provided by the VP, IT Finance.

How will you do it?

  • Consolidates, analyzes, and reviews monthly rolling forecasts and annual financial plans for a specific area of IT projects within our portfolio 
  • Analyzes and reviews actual monthly financial performance. Ability to recognize inconsistencies in financial data and initiates and manages the appropriate corrective action.  Ensures accuracy of project financials in partnership with the Project & Portfolio Management team in our ERP tool 
  • Journal entries for corrections and proper coding 
  • Provides consultation for proper coding of costs in our IT financials to ensure our projects are reflected correctly within our ERP tool 
  • Oversee project financial modeling, working to obtain internal management capital appropriation request (CAR’s) approvals & supporting documentation  
  • Provides consultation to the Project & Portfolio team on how to manage IT financial processes 
  • Prepares and storytelling of financial presentations for the IT Finance & IT Senior Leadership team comprising of actual results, forecasts to illustrate variances along with risks and opportunities 
  • Work closely with project managers on project go live dates and changes to the project 
  • Capitalization of projects when the project has gone live 

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Accounting or Finance 
  • Advanced Excel skills are required (formulas, pivot tables, data tables) 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a constantly evolving organization 
  • Proven analytical skills, research capabilities and overall financial & project management acumen required 
  • Knowledge in SAP4Hana and OneStream is preferred 
  • Excellent communications skills, in written and oral reports. Should have ability to listen effectively to execute deliverables
