We are looking for a Lead Financial Accountant – Financial Accounting & Reporting to take responsibility for financial accounting and statutory reporting activities for both the Private Pension Fund (FPAP NN) and its Administrator, NN Pensii SAFPAP SA.
This is a senior/ expert role with a high level of professional and technical accountability for financial accounting and reporting, similar in scope to a chief accountant from a technical standpoint.
You will work closely with a team of financial accountants, acting as a technical lead and reference point, while day‑to‑day accounting activities are performed collaboratively within the team.
The role ensures, at an operational level, the accounting activities of the NN Private Pension Fund.
What will you do?
Financial Accounting – Pension Fund & Administrator
Act as technical lead for the accounting team, ensuring consistent and correct application of accounting standards across activities related to both the Pension Fund and the Administrator;
Manage general ledger activities, journals and statutory accounting registers for both entities;
Ensure accurate, complete, and timely delivery of financial information and provide support during period-end close and audits.
Prepare and validate monthly trial balances and support period‑end closing;
Perform reconciliations and ensure data integrity across accounting records;
Support the accounting treatment of investment transactions related to the Pension Fund, in collaboration with the Investments Department;
Support inventory processes in line with legal and regulatory requirements;
Ensure proper application of accounting policies, procedures and delegated authorities.
Financial & Regulatory Reporting
Prepare and review statutory financial statements and regulatory reports for the Pension Fund and the Administrator.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to authorities (ANAF, Ministry of Finance, ASF);
Maintain and continuously improve financial reporting procedures;
Deliver periodic financial reporting to Executive Management and NN Group
Tax & Fiscal Support (together with the Tax Specialist)
Prepare and submit tax declarations in accordance with legislation;
Support analysis of taxes, deferred tax and applicable fiscal treatments;
Contribute to transfer pricing documentation and fiscal procedures;
Ensure alignment between Group accounting policies and local regulations.
Policies, Procedures & Projects
Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting and reporting procedures;
Participate as a key finance expert in cross‑functional and system‑related projects;
Support testing and implementation of accounting and reporting system changes.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as a technical finance contact for internal stakeholders and auditors;
Provide technical support in interactions with regulators and tax authorities;
Represent the company from a technical and professional perspective, in collaboration with responsible management.
What will you bring?
University degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting;
Min 4–5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting;
Strong knowledge of Romanian accounting standards and IFRS;
Experience with statutory and regulatory reporting;
CECCAR/ ACCA qualification or ACCA student – a strong advantage;
Experience in the pension funds or investment funds sector – a strong advantage;
Advanced Excel skills and solid exposure to accounting systems;
Fluent English (written and spoken);
Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and ownership attitude.

The monthly salary range for the role is between 11,873 and 20,354 RON gross. The salary range showcased is only indicative. The final benefits package will be agreed upon during final negotiations with each candidate, by considering different criteria, such as the experience and skills level.
