The Role : Lead Engineer, Statistical Process 

Entegris is seeking a Lead Engineer, Statistical Process based in our Kulim location. This role will serve as our internal statistical expert to work hand in hand with the Manufacturing and Process Engineers to improve manufacturing processes in New Product Introduction and existing products. 

This role is responsible for measuring and improving the statistical compliances of our processes and ensure the statistical rule of thumbs are adhered to in day-to-day manufacturing activities. 

In this role you will  

  • To drive and to champion Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation and sustainability with the process owners for all relevant processes in the Kulim facility. 

  • To work closely with the Manufacturing/Process/Quality Engineers on effective root-cause analysis using the relevant statistical tools throughout the various streams of manufacturing (Outgoing, In-Process and Incoming) 

  • High level of proficiency in executing statistical evaluations (DOE, Data Mining etc.) 

  • Design, propose, and execute experiments with regards to quality improvements and process capability improvements. 

  • Strongly participate in customer excursion works and add significant value to the overall corrective and preventive action process by utilizing relevant statistical methods. 

  • Act as an internal statistical consultant to the engineers. 

  • Effectively present complex statistical analysis into simple & understandable presentations for a wide audience. 

  • Work closely with the Manufacturing Systems Solutions team and define statistical dashboards for monitoring. 

Traits we believe make a strong candidate 

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, or a related field with a minimum of 10 to 15 years of implementing statistical process improvements in a face paced manufacturing environment. 

  • 6 Sigma Black Belt certified. 

  • Proficiency in Statistical Process Control principles and practices. 

  • Have strong manufacturing process acumen and challenge the status quo. 

  • Must have experience driving SPC reviews and action plans with cross functional teams. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Self-motivation and results oriented mindset are essential

  • Must be able to understand the manufacturing processes and generate results in a short lead-time 

  • Must be extremely versed in Minitab application.
