We’re expanding our team located in Hyderabad, India, we’re looking for a talented, highly motivated, and results-driven engineer with expertise in data analytics and inter-disciplinary (thermal, mechanical, electrical, or control) system modeling, simulation, and technical leadership. The main responsibility of the ideal candidate will be the development, software implementation and testing of physics-based models of HVAC/R components and systems and providing technical leadership to modeling group based at Hyderabad R&D center. Models developed will be part of our suit of libraries for various components of HVAC systems & and software tools. Modeling software developed by the HVAC/R Design & Sales Software team is used globally for the design of advanced, high-efficiency, environmentally friendly air Commercial Refrigeration products and systems.

How You'll Create Possibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The modeling engineer is responsible for refrigerant component/system model development/accuracy assurance/troubleshooting/maintenance/model integration with API/UI.

  • Design and develop physics-based thermo-fluid models of HVAC-R components
  • Integrate and compose component models into HVAC-R equipment system models
  • Perform model testing, calibration, and validation based on experimental data
  • Perform component/system model test to support the development of Next Generation simulation toolchain
  • Work with our engineering design centers globally on challenging modeling problems and promote the application of modeling and simulation techniques to support design decisions
  • Align with global team to define Agile user story/feature for local modeling group

What You'll Bring to Our Team

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates must have or be pursuing an MS in Engineering, Data Analytics, Physics, or PhD in Mechanical with a Specialization in Thermal and fluid Science
  • Experience : 5+ years in the relevant area

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience of physics-based modeling
  • Experience of writing/solving equation-based model in one or more integrated solver toolchains, such as Dymola,
  • Should possess experience in using of Modelica based modeling methodology.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages including but not limited to: .Net ,Python, R, Matlab, Scala, SQL, C/C++, Java, Modelica
  • Knowledge of Application Language Matlab/ Simulink is helpful
  • Experience of the Agile development process is desirable.
  • Knowledge of software programming techniques, including object-oriented methodologies, version control management
  • Strong technical writing abilities to provide high-quality documentation and standard work


In addition, the ideal candidate should:
 

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC&R, thermal fluid systems, and thermodynamic cycles
  • Knowledge of machine learning, linear algebra, statistics, signal processing, and optimization is a plus
  • Hand-on experience with embedded systems and lab testing is also a plus
  • Good to know numerical methods and solvers, optimization, and robust design techniques and Use methods for model convergence (scaling, smoothing), model diagnostics, debugging, initialization, identification of limits of performance
