The Position

This role is ideal for a highly skilled engineer who combines deep technical expertise with a collaborative mindset and a passion for building sustainable, future-ready infrastructure. As the Lead Electrical Engineer, you will guide the design and delivery of high-voltage transmission systems that enable clean energy integration and strengthen community resilience.

Operating within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) framework, the position is focused on developing cost-effective, technically robust design solutions. A strong emphasis on constructability ensures that designs translate into efficient, safe, and sustainable outcomes during on-site execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full design lifecycle of complex systems, from concept through integration and
  • Validation including resolving design conflicts and ensure systems meet performance, reliability, and regulatory standards
  • Apply RAM principles to enhance system maintainability, availability, and reliability
  • Lead Value Engineering and Whole of Life assessments to improve cost-effectiveness and
  • Sustainability ensuring engineering systems processes are integrated seamlessly
  • Resolve major design control challenges and lead problem-solving efforts for complex technical challenges, balancing project constraints such as cost, time, and quality

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Chartered Status (including RPEV, RPEQ, NER & CPEng), or the ability to achieve
  • 7+ years’ senior experience in transmission line design (220kV+)
  • Advanced PLS-CADD skills (preferably to 500kV); working knowledge of PLS-Tower
  • Strong understanding of HV transmission, substations, and applicable standards
  • Skilled in preparing clear, accurate reports, drawings, schedules, and specifications
  • Tier 1/Tier 2 contractor or TNSP experience highly regarded
