Lead DevOps Engineer

Vilnius Full time

We’re looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join us at Telia.

I’m Mantas Šegžda, Head of Integration TechOps team in Lithuania. We collaborate internationally with experienced colleagues and partners, who have built and currently maintain the Service Hub - Telia’s internal integration and feature add-on platform. The team is growing its competence and autonomy, becoming a significant contributor to the platform’s development.

What you’ll do

This is a self-driven, delivery-focused role that requires strong collaboration across agile teams to achieve success.

As Lead DevOps Engineer, you’ll not only contribute individually, but also guide the team, supporting greater autonomy, ownership and competence. You’ll ensure stability, performance, and automation of cloud environments and delivery pipelines while fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement. You will:

  • Operate and improve cloud infrastructure across AWS, UpCloud, and Welkin Kubernetes environments

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including automated testing and quality checks

  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to ensure reliability and repeatability

  • Contribute to DevSecOps practices: security automation, code scanning, and vulnerability remediation

  • Enable observability through monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing tools to support datadriven operational improvements

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support availability and incident response

What will help you thrive in this role:

This role could be a great match for someone with a collaborative mindset and strong commitment to individual and team ownership and success. You also need:

  • Strong experience with Linux systems and IP networking

  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform

  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms

  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

  • Understanding of SRE principles (monitoring, incident management, runbook automation)

  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills

  • Java knowledge would be considered as an advantage as the knowledge would be beneficial for troubleshooting.
