WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to shape and drive our finance data and analytics strategy, enabling more informed, data-driven decision-making across the business. This role ensures Finance has reliable, scalable data models, reporting, and insights to support planning, performance tracking, and strategic initiatives. By bridging finance and data, it will also identify opportunities to improve data quality, challenge existing assumptions, and elevate our overall analytics capabilities.

What you will be responsible for

  • Own and evolve the finance data and analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with Finance objectives and broader business priorities.

  • Design, build, and maintain analytical models, datasets, and BI solutions that support financial reporting, planning, and decision‑making.

  • Translate financial requirements into robust data models and semantic layers, enabling consistent, trusted insights across Finance.

  • Engage directly with data through tasks such as data manipulation, transformation, modeling, and validation across diverse sources

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions, primarily using Microsoft BI tools, to support both operational and strategic finance use cases.

  • Work closely with Finance stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of requirements, question existing beliefs, and suggest data-driven ways to drive improvement

  • Support advanced analytics and ad‑hoc analysis to answer complex financial and business questions.

  • Contribute to financial modeling and analysis where relevant, leveraging data and analytics to enhance insight (understanding of financial statements is expected, hands‑on modeling experience is a plus but not mandatory).

  • Assume responsibility for identifying gaps, improving data quality, and advancing continuous improvement across finance analytics capabilities

What we value

  • 6+ years of experience in data analytics, finance analytics, BI, or a similar role, with increasing responsibility.

  • Very experienced across the full data and analytics lifecycle: data strategy, data manipulation, modeling, and BI

  • Extensive background in the Microsoft BI ecosystem (e.g., Power BI, semantic models, related tooling)

  • Solid experience with SQL; experience with Python is appreciated.

  • Solid understanding of the needs, objectives, and processes of a Finance function; ability to speak the “language of Finance” is critical

  • Good understanding of financial statements and finance concepts; financial modeling experience will be an advantage

  • Ability to think strategically about data while remaining engaged and technically credible

  • An initiative-driven approach paired with clear ownership — at ease initiating action

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data topics into clear business insights
