Your Team & Role  
As a Data Security Lead, you will collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and tech leads to strengthen our organization’s data security posture. You will oversee quality control of data security technical controls. In addition to expertise and experience in data security, you will bring excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. You will champion agile methodologies, demonstrate strong business acumen, foster an inclusive leadership style, and maintain a continuous learning mindset in all aspects of your work.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day  

  • Conduct regular quality control assessments of data security controls across cloud and on-premise platforms. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of technical security controls in protecting sensitive data. 
  • Identify gaps or weaknesses in implemented security controls and recommend corrective actions. 
  • Verify that security controls comply with business/corporate function requirements, organizational policies and regulatory requirements. 
  • Work closely with platform owners and technical teams to ensure proper configuration and maintenance of data security controls. 
  • Document findings from quality control reviews and track remediation efforts. 
  • Develop and maintain checklists and procedures for quality control processes related to data security. 
  • Monitor platform updates and changes to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness of security controls. 
  • Support audits by providing evidence of quality control over security controls. 
  • Provide feedback and training to technical teams on best practices for data security controls. 
  • Stay informed about new threats and vulnerabilities affecting technical platforms and adjust quality control processes accordingly. 
  • Report quality control outcomes, relevant metrics, and identified risks to management and stakeholders.

The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields 
  • Knowledge of business concepts tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business 
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges 
  • Analytical problem solving, communication and collaboration skills 
  • Expertise in cloud and on-premise data security controls  
  • Proficiency in conducting quality control assessments  
  • Strong risk assessment and mitigation skills  
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements  
  • Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Cloud Access Service Broker (CASB), and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM).

Preferred Certifications:

  • GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA)
  • GIAC Cloud Forensics Responder (GCFR)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Insider Threat Program Manager (CITPM)
  • AWS Security Specialty

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $123,700.00 to $204,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
