Role Overview

CSA Discipline refers to ‘Architectural, Structural, HVAC, Plumbing/Firefighting, CSA cost estimation and CSA 3D modelling’

The Lead CSA Engineer is responsible for CSA - related design services in capital investment projects, CSA improvement projects, proposal projects, or comparable projects. Starting from proposal preparation to commissioning, under the guidance of the Engineering Manager (EM) and Project Manager (PM), the engineer leads a team of internal and external CSA engineers to achieve project targets and provides technical expertise to support projects in reaching their defined goals.

Critical Responsibilities

• As CSA Lead Engineer, develop the CSA part in capital investment projects within the scheduled time, budget, and quality requirements in all project phases, adhering to relevant standards and procedures. This ensures the smooth progress of the project and the high - quality delivery of the CSA component.
• Develop the design basis for capital investment projects, covering aspects such as defining the design basis, CSA description, calculations, layout drawings, and cost estimation. This provides a solid foundation for the project's design and implementation.
• Evaluate the technical needs of the Business Entity (BE), transform these needs into functional and technical requirements, and then into engineering design input. Review feedback on improvement potential and assess the optimal solution considering technical, economic, and ecological constraints. This helps to ensure that the project design meets the actual needs and is both feasible and sustainable.
• Establish a team of CSA engineers as part of the project organization and propose a multi - discipline workflow. This ensures cross - communication (interface management) within the CSA team and among project sub - teams, including technical experts and operations personnel, promoting efficient teamwork and information sharing.
• Implement CSA - related workflows, standards, and guidelines. Instruct technical personnel in line with legal obligations and company policies to ensure a complete and consistent CSA design package. This guarantees the compliance and quality of the design.

Requirements

Educational Background: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in CSA engineering from a renowned university.

Core Skills:

• At least 8 years of work experience in the relevant field of CSA design.
• In - depth knowledge in basic and detailed design areas, including interface management with contractors, field engineering support, commissioning, and start - up of chemical, petrochemical, or related plants.
• Proficiency in Architectural and Structural design, building reinforcement, Civil works, HVAC, Fire protection/firefighting, Building material, CSA cost estimation, technical and commercial comparison and evaluation, CSA 3D modelling, and structural softwares such as PKPM.
• Project experience in leading or participating in projects as a Lead Engineer or Senior CSA Engineer.

 Language Proficiency: Fluent in both written and spoken English, including technical English, and able to work in a multi - cultural environment.

Knowledge Requirements: Knowledge of all relevant GB codes regarding the design and maintenance of the CSA area in chemical and petrochemical plants.

Personal Skills:

• Ability to set priorities, organize work, work independently, and proceed according to agreed objectives without continuous supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Other Requirements: Willingness for business trips and national/regional assignments.
