THE JOB:
As a Lead Cook (Buffet) at MGM Northfield Park, you will play a vital role in the operations of your assigned kitchen stations, setting the stage for an exceptional guest experience with your warm smile and dedicated service. Your ability to connect with guests and understand their unique stories and needs will allow you to take ownership of their culinary journey, creating unforgettable moments that they will cherish long after their visit. THE STARTING RATE: $20.70
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Communicate effectively with management, chefs, and service staff to address any guest or employee needs and ensure smooth operations.
Notify the Room Chef or Sous Chef of any problems that arise and detail how they have been resolved to maintain quality service.
Expedite and coordinate service, ensuring production aligns with par levels and guest expectations.
Operate various kitchen stations, including sauté, sauce, grill, cold seafood, pastry, and appetizers, while maintaining a collaborative team environment.
Adhere to proper food handling techniques and health and safety standards, while maintaining a solid understanding of menu items, recipes, and preparation techniques, including the creation of base sauces, stocks, and soups.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
