About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact
- Act as key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management functional area
- Monitor moderately complex business specific programs, and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies
- Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area
- Develop and implement risk monitoring and risk reporting processes and controls
- Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies
- Lead Control Management project or virtual teams
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

- Experience with Transformation with the ability to identify and present process/operational enhancements.
- Ability to execute in a fast-paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities.
- Experience in risk management supporting front line unit compliance with enterprise policy and standards
- Risk Management experience in a top 5 bank with specific focus on exiting Regulatory Consent Orders (OCC, CFPB, FRB)
- Experience working with Senior Leaders as an “Influencer”. Able to effectively convey complicated information necessary to provide the leader with an informed understanding leading to executable risk-mitigation strategies
- Strong experience with Issue Management processes and systems
Job Expectations:
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) skills. Knowledge and understanding of risk applications i.e. Veritas and Service Now (SNOW)

- Key lead for all strategic analytics and story boarding
- Provide strategic vision and analysis around organizational requirements from an IP perspective around Org Structure, engagements, business outcomes, stratgic priorities, functional maturity, people etc
- Assist in driving Control MBR and IPRC agenda, actions and escalations, optimization of quality of inputs and timely submission to key governance forums.
- Liaison for submissions to the Regulators, I&P Board and Operations Risk and Control committees.
- Key point of contact for Front Line teams for all Risk and control governance matters.
- Provide horizontal and consistent view across BG/EFs on control activities, initiatives, accomplishments, emerging risks, RCSA, risk events and issues.
- Act as an advisor to more experienced leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies for complex and highly integrated business specific risk across different business lines
- Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report impact of decisions and business controls to the relevant business group and enterprise functions.
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex current and emerging risks requiring in depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise.
- Provide vision, direction, and expertise to more experienced leaders on implementing innovative and significant business solutions for highly complex risks associated with business operations.
- Lead and mentor Control Management project or virtual teams.
- Engage with all levels of roles across the business group and serve as an experienced advisor in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and controls that mitigate risks and address regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a coverage officer within the control team, with proven knowledge of applicable processes and controls
- Continuously engage in discussions with LOB partners on strategy, organizational changes, and new/modified systems, processes and controls to determine impact and identify and remediate risk control issues across all risk types
- Contribute to team coverage of engagements such as internal audits, external exam and other control reviews. Ensure LOB awareness and preparations as applicable
- Collaborate with Line of Business (LOB) partners on control design, implementation and monitoring.
- Ensure appropriate connectivity, linkage, and integration with in-region international risk management teams.
- Partner with business control managers and the business to maintain the business process inventory.
- Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, technology and internal controls.
- Awareness and involvement in regulatory change control, and alignment of related controls.
