Job Description Summary

As an Associate Director, within Novartis’ US Internal Consulting team, the Lead Consultant plays a pivotal role in delivering excellence across projects, leading delivery outcomes, and executing initiatives that enhance team effectiveness. This role is instrumental in building trusted relationships with Executive Leadership Team stakeholders and developing the consulting team through strategic and operational leadership.


 

Job Description

Key responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end medium complexity projects or workstreams within complex enterprise programs.
  • Build frameworks and approaches in consultation with Principal Consultants.
  • Manage project teams, including Consulting Managers and other junior team members, ensuring quality and timely outcomes.
  • Lead execution of key deliverables and provide insights.
  • Seek input from associates assigned to projects you’re leading and their respective people managers to understand development needs, and actively support associates’ growth and career development throughout project engagements.
  • Contribute to training content development and delivery.
  • Provide active feedback, coaching, and mentoring on internal and business projects. 
  • Proven track record in leading process improvement projects, driving strategic initiatives, and developing internal talent across various industries and geographies.   

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related fields.     
  • 10–12 years of experience utilizing core consulting skills, demonstrating analytical and strategic thinking, problem-solving, strong communication and interpersonal skills, adaptability, and proficiency in program and project management, as well as relevant industry tools and methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector, particularly in the US market, including an understanding of industry dynamics, specific challenges, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Minimum of 4 years in management consulting at a reputed global (e.g., Strategy, Big4, ZS, IQVIA) or boutique/local consulting firm.  

Desirable Requirements:

  • MBA or relevant post-graduate degree. 
  • Experience with Gen AI technologies leveraging generative AI tools and frameworks to enhance solution design, automate workflows, and drive innovation. It includes applying Gen AI to client engagements, identifying use cases, managing implementation roadmaps, and ensuring responsible AI practices throughout project delivery.
  • Additional certifications in AI, Agile, Change Management, Product Management, Design Thinking, PMP, etc. 

Benefits & Rewards

The salary for this position is expected to range between $152,600.00 and $283,400.00 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
