Job Summary
Position responsible for developing and managing capital construction projects for user groups throughout the healthcare system from conceptual planning through design coordination, construction, and occupancy.Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Science or related field
Licenses/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Five (5) to seven (7) years experience in design and construction management in health care facilities.
Principal Accountabilities
Manages the programming of space for user groups, planning for construction of renovation and remodeling projects.
Develops detailed schedules and budgets for each product, obtains user approval, monitors construction progress, works to optimize consultants time usage on projects, coordinates project logistics to minimize down time and disruptions to patients and staff.
Serves as the leader on each project to coordinate and supervise the execution of the total scope of work with the user and the design professionals.
Coordinates and manages the bidding process, either by negotiating or through competitive bidding, to ensure that the system receives a complete bid and achieves the best market value at the time pricing is received.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors, adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
