Team Description

The Lead Commercial Operations Analyst Sales Incentive Administration & Analytics is a lead‑level individual contributor role with end‑to‑end ownership of Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) administration and complex commercial analytics. This role acts as a trusted partner to senior commercial, finance, and executive leaders, accountable for both high‑quality execution and clear, defensible insights.

This role requires strong executive presence, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in high‑visibility environments. The Lead Analyst must be comfortable handling scrutiny around incentive outcomes and quickly translating complex, multi‑variable analyses into clear, executive‑ready narratives.

The Lead Analyst sets the standard for operational rigor, analytical credibility, and ownership within Commercial Operations and is expected to ramp quickly, take on ambiguity, and deliver with minimal direction.

Role and Responsibilities

Sales Incentive Plan Administration

  • Own end‑to‑end administration of Sales Incentive Plans, ensuring accurate calculation, validation, and timely payouts.
  • Maintain and govern incentive documentation, payout logic, rate tables, accelerators, caps, and policy rules.
  • Serve as a primary point of accountability and escalation for incentive calculations, exceptions, and disputes.
  • Partner with Finance, HR, Deal Desk, and Sales leadership to align incentive rules with bookings, renewals, pricing, and revenue recognition.
  • Maintain audit‑ready documentation of incentive logic, assumptions, approvals, and changes.
  • Support incentive budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis.

Analytics & Executive Support

  • Build and maintain models for incentive plan design, quota setting, and scenario analysis.
  • Analyze performance to assess plan effectiveness, earnings distribution, and alignment to business objectives.
  • Provide high‑impact analytical support for planning cycles, forecasts, performance reviews, and executive readouts.
  • Translate complex analysis into clear insights, risks, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Commercial Ops processes, tooling, and governance standards.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Finance, Sales Ops, RevOps, Finance, or Commercial Strategy.
  •  Leading complex analytical and strategic commercial initiatives, with a strong track record of working directly with senior executives, building business cases, and presenting clear, data‑backed recommendations.
  • Experience operating at a lead / Lead individual‑contributor level, owning complex, high‑impact workstreams with minimal oversight.
  • Advanced, Lead‑level Excel expertise, including complex modeling, scenario analysis, and structured data validation to support executive decision‑making.
  • Strong working knowledge of BI and reporting tools (e.g., dashboards, performance reporting, executive readouts) and the ability to translate outputs into business insights.
  • Proficiency across the Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), with the ability to produce clear, executive‑ready materials quickly.
  • Strong executive presence and credibility; able to confidently explain incentive outcomes, trade‑offs, and risks under scrutiny.
  • Proven ability to translate complex, multi‑variable analysis into clear, concise executive narratives, quickly and effectively.
  • High resilience and thick skin; comfortable operating in high‑pressure, high‑visibility environments.
  • Strong operational rigor and ownership mindset, with a bias toward accuracy, auditability, and repeatable processes.
  • Ability to ramp quickly, learn independently, and take on ambiguous projects without hand‑holding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience serving as a go‑to expert or escalation point for commercial insights and analytics.
  • Background in B2B SaaS, technology, transactional and/or subscription‑based businesses.
  • Exposure to Salesforce.com and incentive compensation tools.
  • Experience supporting planning cycles, quota setting, or commercial forecasting.
